Health GUIDE
Behavioral & mental health
Osita offers initial assessments and supportive counseling during visits for concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, and difficulty coping with life changes.
General patient education. Your clinician’s individual instructions take priority. An online guide cannot determine eligibility or replace an examination.
Before your appointment
- Bring a medication list and any relevant prior care information. This service is for scheduled care; for an immediate medical or mental health emergency, call 911.
- Bring identification, insurance details, medicines, allergies, relevant records and any school, sports or employer forms.
- Confirm whether your particular test needs fasting or other preparation. Do not fast or stop medication unless instructed. For surgery clearance, bring your surgeon’s requirements.
What to expect
Your provider listens to your concerns and discusses next steps. When ongoing or more specialized care is needed, the clinic helps coordinate referrals to therapists, psychologists, or psychiatrists.
After your visit
- Before leaving, confirm the next steps and how any results, forms or referrals will be communicated.
- Contact the clinic if the expected follow-up has not arrived. Do not assume that no message means every result is normal.
Follow-up & what to expect
Agree on next steps, a review date and what to do if symptoms worsen. Ongoing therapy or specialist treatment may require referral. A scheduled clinic visit is not an emergency service.
Your questions, answered
What happens at a first visit?
You can discuss mood, stress, sleep, daily functioning and what has changed. A provider may use questionnaires and ask about medicines, health conditions and safety.
Do I need to know my diagnosis?
No. Describe what you are experiencing and what help you want. The assessment may identify a need for further evaluation.
Is this ongoing psychotherapy?
The clinic lists initial assessment and supportive counseling during visits. Confirm availability and ask about referrals for ongoing therapy or specialist care.
Will I automatically receive medication?
No. Treatment depends on an assessment, your preferences and the clinician’s scope. Some medicines or diagnoses require specialist care.
What if I need help immediately?
If there is immediate danger or you cannot stay safe, call emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait for a reply from the website form.
Planning your visit
What will it cost?
Confirm visit fees and what is included before scheduling. Tests, medication, supplies or additional visits may be separate. Ask about insurance eligibility for medical care; coverage is not guaranteed. A consultation is not advertised as free.
How can I contact the clinic?
Call 510-777-1000 Monday–Friday 9 AM–5 PM or Saturday 9 AM–2 PM Pacific. If we are helping another patient, leave your name and callback number. General inquiries can use the contact form when live; do not include sensitive medical details. Hablamos español.
When to get help
For severe symptoms or an emergency, call 911 rather than using the website form.
For severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, get medical care promptly. Call 911 for an emergency. The website form is not an urgent-care service.
