Students GUIDE

Student interns & externs

Osita welcomes inquiries from nurse practitioner, medical, medical assistant, EKG technician, and billing and coding students. Placements provide an opportunity to learn about patient care and clinic operations in a supervised setting.

Placement requirements depend on your school, approved scope and clinic availability.

Before your inquiry

What to expect

Learning activities depend on your program, level of training, approved scope, and placement availability. The clinic and your school coordinate requirements before a rotation begins.

After your acceptance

Placement & next steps

A placement starts only after written acceptance and required onboarding. Keep your school coordinator involved in scheduling, learning objectives, supervision and evaluation.

Your questions, answered

Which students may inquire?

The clinic lists nurse practitioner, medical, medical assistant, EKG technician, and billing and coding learners. Availability depends on suitable supervision and your school’s requirements.

What should my inquiry include?

Your school and program, current training level, requested dates, required hours, learning objectives and coordinator contact details. Do not include patient information.

Do you have an agreement with my school?

The school and clinic need to confirm any required affiliation agreement before a placement begins. An inquiry or conversation does not establish an agreement.

What onboarding is needed?

Ask about documentation, health screening, training, confidentiality, insurance and background requirements. Requirements must be confirmed rather than assumed from another site.

Will I perform procedures independently?

Activities depend on approved scope, training, supervision and patient consent. A student placement is not permission to work beyond your training or independently practice.

Are hours or a placement guaranteed?

No. Confirm availability, approved hours, attendance rules, evaluation arrangements and any fees in writing before committing.

How should I send documents?

Start with a general inquiry. Ask for the approved way to send school or personal documents; do not upload confidential records to the public contact form.

Contact the team

How can I contact the clinic?

When to contact the team

Contact the clinic and your school coordinator before starting or changing a placement. Do not share patient information in placement inquiries.

Still have a question?

Our team can help you plan the next step. Hablamos español.
