Peptides & IV Therapy GUIDE
Vitamin Shots (IM)
Intramuscular (IM) vitamin shots deliver a selected nutrient into a muscle. The ingredient and dose should match a clinical need rather than a general promise of energy or wellness.
General patient education. Your clinician’s individual instructions take priority. An online guide cannot determine eligibility or replace an examination.
Before your appointment
- Share medicines, supplements, allergies, and relevant laboratory results. Ask about the ingredients and whether an oral supplement would be appropriate.
- Tell the clinician about previous injection reactions, medicines, allergies and current supplements. Confirm the actual ingredient and why an injection is being recommended.
What to expect
The clinic confirms which injections are available and reviews whether one is suitable. Your provider explains possible benefits, alternatives, injection-site effects, and follow-up.
After your visit
- Keep the injection site clean and follow dressing instructions.
- Follow only the schedule agreed for the specific ingredient and report unexpected symptoms.
Follow-up & what to expect
Ask what will be reassessed and when, rather than continuing injections automatically. The need for repeat treatment depends on the specific nutrient and clinical reason.
Your questions, answered
What is included in a vitamin shot?
The name covers different products. Confirm the ingredient, dose, formulation and route before treatment; do not assume all shots contain B12.
Do I need laboratory testing first?
It depends on the nutrient, symptoms and history. Bring previous results so the clinician can decide whether testing or a different assessment is needed.
Can I take my usual supplements too?
Show the complete list and doses. Combining supplements with injections can duplicate ingredients; more is not always better.
Is an IM shot the same as an IV?
No. An IM injection goes into muscle, while an IV goes into a vein. Their risks and uses differ. Ask why an injection is preferred over oral intake.
What happens after the injection?
Follow site-care advice. Local soreness can occur, but worsening redness, heat, swelling or pain needs assessment. Seek emergency help for breathing difficulty or throat swelling.
Planning your visit
What will it cost?
Confirm visit fees and what is included before scheduling. Tests, medication, supplies or additional visits may be separate. Ask about insurance eligibility for medical care; coverage is not guaranteed. A consultation is not advertised as free.
