Weight Management GUIDE
Weight management
Explore a provider-guided approach to weight management, including nutrition, activity, medical evaluation, and appropriate treatment options. Osita’s menu includes semaglutide, tirzepatide, and MIC + B12; each requires an individual discussion of evidence, suitability, and alternatives.
General patient education. Your clinician’s individual instructions take priority. An online guide cannot determine eligibility or replace an examination.
Before your appointment
- Bring your medication list and relevant records. Ask what is included, what monitoring is needed, and how progress will be assessed. Treatment eligibility and results vary.
- Bring your medicine list, health history and previous weight-management experience. Discuss pregnancy plans and relevant lab results.
- Ask about expected benefits, side effects, costs, alternatives and ongoing monitoring. Do not start or change a dose based on website information.
What to expect
Discuss realistic goals, available options, follow-up, costs, and the evidence for any proposed medication or supplement. A sustainable plan should fit your individual medical needs.
After your visit
- Follow only your prescribed treatment and follow-up schedule. Ask what to do for a missed dose or side effects; do not double doses on your own.
- Contact your clinician for persistent vomiting, inability to keep fluids down or significant abdominal pain. Continue the nutrition and activity plan agreed with your care team.
Follow-up & what to expect
Progress includes health, function and sustainable habits—not only a number on a scale. Agree on review points, what will be measured and how to adjust the plan if progress stalls or treatment is not tolerated.
Your questions, answered
Do I have to take medication?
No. The visit can focus on nutrition, activity, sleep, health conditions and practical barriers. Prescription treatment is one option for appropriate patients, not an automatic part of every plan.
Who qualifies for weight-loss medication?
Eligibility depends on the specific medicine, weight-related health risks and your medical history. A clinician reviews benefits, risks and alternatives; completing a website inquiry does not establish eligibility.
How much weight will I lose?
There is no guaranteed number or deadline. Starting health, treatment, adherence and individual response matter. Promotional images are not evidence of your likely result.
Will I need blood tests?
Testing depends on your symptoms, history, medicines and previous results. Bring recent records so your provider can decide what is useful instead of repeating tests unnecessarily.
What happens when I reach my goal?
Plan for maintenance before stopping treatment. Some medicines may be long-term options, and weight regain is possible after stopping. Discuss nutrition, strength, follow-up and ongoing cost.
What should I ask about a package?
Confirm whether visits, laboratory work, medication, supplies and follow-up are included. Ask about cancellation and refill arrangements before purchasing.
Planning your visit
What will it cost?
Confirm visit fees and what is included before scheduling. Tests, medication, supplies or additional visits may be separate. Ask about insurance eligibility for medical care; coverage is not guaranteed. A consultation is not advertised as free.
